Sturdy and safe!
My bird is obsessed with climbing rather than flying. So this is one of the best things I could have gotten him! It’s sturdy and tough to allow him to walk around depending on where it’s being used, and it can be suspended from the top of the cage as a fake branch.Material is grippy and soft, seems safe for birds!

Overall this rope toy is a decent value, but not perfect. For the price it’s not bad at all, but I’m pretty picky about bird toys, so there are a few things that stand out to me.I’m always a bit skeptical buying toys for my birds on Amazon, especially things made out of wood or rope, but this really seems to be made of quality material. That’s definitely a plus. The colors are bright and cheerful, and it came out of the package fresh and clean with no noticeable smell or anything like that. My biggest concern is the plastic zip tie holding the ends of the rope together, and the cheap little clip used to fasten it, as others have mentioned…seems like some corners were cut when a more safe/substantial way of gathering the cords would have been better. So far my Congo African Grey has not noticed the zip tie, but when he does you can rest assured it will disappear quickly, and the rest of the rope will soon follow.I was a little dismayed by the dimensions of the rope…I was kind of expecting a 79″ rope perch to be a little thicker. It’s pretty skinny. Not terribly so, but it’s certainly on the thin side. And the wire inside is super easy to deform…Maybe it’s just the one I received but my bird is on the small side for his species and when he tries to hang/sit on it his weight is enough to stretch it out. So now it’s pretty much a glorified preening/shredding toy rather than an actual perch (which he’s perfectly happy with, so no loss there). There’s a million different ways to use a long rope toy like this, so use your imagination and let your birdies do the rest.

My bird love it. Itâs perfect for them.
My birds love this. I really got it for the ball thatâs like a cage and you can put different things inside. I wanted to put different kind of fruits because itâs really hard to give them little fruits and they keep dropping it off the cage. Itâs also great for the vegetables. And I havenât tried yet, but I also will do the millet spray in there. It gives them some work to do and some fun. They love the rope action. Theyâre familiar with these ropes, but I use this one to hang down like in the picture and they love it. I have three birds and they absolutely adore these perches. I think itâs a great value because youâre getting three items. I havenât cleaned them, but it think itâll be easy to clean. And they are very sturdy and a good size for medium small birds.

Perfect rope toy/perch for my green cheek conure. I have an outdoor enclosure for some ducks and I like to take him out there for sun. It has chicken wire all around and on the âroofâ. This toy has a clip on both sides (even the one with the bell). It bends and stays in place for a bird his size. Overall he is pretty happy with it and chews at the bell when he is bored. Honestly though, having a bendable perch is a blessing for this application.

As a Whole a Good Deal
As a whole this set of toys is a good deal for the money. A heads up though is don’t cut off the zip ties on either end of the rope perch. I have similar ones. One has plastic screw attachments that finish the ends to attach it to the bars of the cage and another is knotted in such a way as to not unravel. It did not occur to me that the zip ties on this were holding the twisted ropes in place. After cutting them they began to unravel. I had to replace them with my own zip ties.As for the colorful balls. When my birds tear apart old toys, I use the hanging wires and make new toys ones. Among other thing I use they love these type of balls for entertainment.The foraging cage is not exactly fantastic. It’s a good idea but not of much quality. One of the lid wires is not soldered on and had to be bent back in place. The top does not lock down on the bottom part. I will end up having to bend the clip or use a twist tie to keep it closed. I may have to rotate it between my parakeets or buy something similar so I have two. I definitely can’t use it for my Green Cheek Conure. He’s torn toys made of thick wire on strong hook off the top of his cage. Leaving nothing but the clip dangling from the top of his cage. This foraging cage will definitely not hold up. He will however love the sola ball. He’ll spend a good amount of time throwing it around and tearing it up.Overall, it’s still a good deal for the price.UPDATE after writing this – as I looked closer at the cage and handled it more. I realized there are sharp ends on the bars at the bottom and the mesh wire bottom also extends out at one point and is sharp. I will definitely not be using it for fear of my birds getting hurt. Be careful to check your closely if you buy this set.On the same token I was able to video my Conure getting much enjoyment out of tearing apart the sola ball, so decide for yourself.

Safety Issues See Review
This bird rope has safety issues. May be ok for smaller birds like Finches, any hook beaked bird can easily tear the rope apart. The rope is just fastened with a zip tie, anyone who has hook billed birds knows that is the first thing a bird will chew on, the plastic that holds the bird rope together. The hook for holding the rope is dangerous to any bird with any beak, birds of all types have been known to get their beaks stuck in the clasp, damaging their beaks, also the clapper in the bell is another safety issue, any hook billed bird can remove the clapper, possibly swallowing it leading to the birds death.
