Multiple Uses!
They sold this as a bird cage, it came in packaging stating is was a butterfly cage, but I originally grabbed it to use as a little breathable holding spot for me guinea pigs. I have to separate them when they eat because Miss Piggy will eat all of hers & then move on to Oreo’s. I’ve since found a different set up for that so this has graduated into a laundry basket for their blankets & such. It obviously has functions as several possible uses. Seems to be made well. Folds up and stores away easily when not in use. Would Recommend!

Opens From The Top
So it is a bit confusing whether or not this is being marketed for birds or for butterflies. Having had birds in the past I can see how maybe this would work as a temp spot for them to hang out in while you are cleaning their cage etc. but I canât see this as a play area. I used to have a netting similar to this on my birds cage to catch seeds (on the outside). While she was climbing up she got a nail stuck in the mesh. Understandably she went berserk flapping her wings and struggling, her leg appeared to be injured. I took her to my Avian vet to make sure she was ok (she was), he told me to take the netting off the cage as it is dangerousâ¦.so I am not sure about birdsâ¦..I imagine a larger bird would peck holes in the mesh.So now for the butterfly part..which is what I got this for. First Iâd like to start iut saying. I had another similar butterfly enclosure. Someone put up an ad that they were looking for a butterfly cage for the residents at a nearby nursing home. I packed up the cage, cocoons, caterpillars and all, and brought them over to the residents. to their delight. So now I am in the market for another one I picked this one up thinking it was very similarâ¦I mean it is a mesh cageâ¦simple right? Well it isnât. While this cage has tighter woven mesh (less see through), other than that it basically looks the sameâ¦wait there is that one issue in the fact that the enclosure opens from the top. I have had some of my cats cocoon on the roof of their enclosure. I imagine that, that there will be a problem being able to open the enclosure with cocoons on it. Instead of keeping it upright it could be lain down on itâs side but you lose height that way.Overall it is a decent enclosure it just has that zipper enclosure issue.

Great way to transport bird outside
I really like this mesh cage. It allows me to safely take my bird outside to enjoy the world without fear that he flies away and doesnât come back. Itâs very lightweight. The handles make it easy to carry, while the size provides ample room for him to fly around. It also is a nice secondary cage to put a bird in while cleaning their cage, but since itâs mesh and collapsable, you donât have to worry about it always taking up too much space when not in use. Quality is great. Zippers seem very good quality.

Very Pleased
This is a sturdy Collapsible Mesh Bird Cage. I have used this to take my pet bird outside now that it is warmer weather. He absolutely loves it. I am sure it gives him a feeling of security, and he hops all around looking in every direction. I stay right with him and do not leave him unattended outside, but he has more freedom in this cage to move around than if I am just holding him. It is bigger than I thought it would be. It is 18 x 18 x 46. It pops up quickly and folds up flat easily. The mesh seems durable and is not affected by his pecking. He does not get his feet hung in the mesh either. I am very pleased with this cage.

Butterfly Nursery and small bird transporter
My parakeets breed like crazy. I trade in young, healthy birds for credit at a pet store where I have shopped for decades. This would be a good temporary cage for transportation of the babies. But I really ordered this because I have long wanted to make a time lapse video of the butterfly ð¦ development stages. This will be perfect. So happy to have it, now I need to grow some milkweed and order some caterpillars! The cage is well sewn and the zipper works just fine.

No directions & my birds do not like this
I picked this up thinking it would be nice to bring my birds outside as described. I had to figure out how to snap it together before I added a couple of their toys & a small dish with water & a treat stick. Even put in a standing perch. Nothing I tried would make them happy. Even after I carried them outside they would not stop fussing. I did try more than once – wanted to wait a day or two in between tries – but they just do not like it. I truly thought it would be better than bringing a cage outside, but I guess not all birds like the net enclosureâ¦..

I wouldnât use this for bird/pet. Great as a plant protector.
Hard to collapsible back down but it worked for my use. I actually used it to put plants in to keep them safe from birds and bugs in their seedling stage. I wouldnât trust a pet bird in this especially once a cage of this size isnât that expensive. Maybe that is just me. Iâd give it 4/5 stars for plants but 3 for its intended use for the money. Please watch for bird carefully if you use this as an outdoor cage.
