Bird Toys for Small Pet Birds
Our bird toys designated for small pet birds are suitable for birds including budgies, lovebirds, parakeets, parrotlets, small conures, and cockatiels. Even finches and canaries will enjoy toys with shiny bells, swings, and preening features. Since 1992, Super Bird Creations has been focused on designing bird toys and products to address the instinctual needs of pet birds, helping to ward off boredom, depression, aggression, and destructive behaviors by stimulating physical activity, curiosity, and mental engagement.
Playthings with a Purpose!
Instinctively, pet birds are still very much like their wild counterparts. Play is a natural behavior for parrots. Wild parrots have been observed engaging in several different kinds of play, including object play, balancing games, play that involves movement, acoustic play, and social play with other birds. Providing enrichment in the form of purposely designed bird toys can alleviate boredom. Bird toys are more than mere playthings when it comes to your bird! Providing pet birds with opportunities to chew, forage, preen, and explore is critical to their well-being.
Bird Toy Types and Benefits
We offer a variety of bird toy types, including:
- Foraging toys: Toys in which treats can be hidden, skewered, and/or embedded to encourage movement and exploration.
- Destructible toys: Chewing is a major activity in the wild and essential to maintaining beak health.
- Exercise toys: Swings and bungees challenge a bird’s balancing skills, while ladders and ropes promote legwork and increase climbing activity.
- Comfort toys: Pet birds, especially when they are alone, like to snuggle up to or crawl into something soft and cuddly.
- Preening toys: Materials like seagrass and crinkle paper provide an excellent outlet for birds to satisfy their desire to preen and to discourage feather picking and mutilation.
- Mechanical toys: Birds are very intelligent creatures, and many enjoy untying knots, undoing nuts and bolts, and exploring and manipulating toy parts.

Genius perch!
This product is well made and easy to put together! My budgie loves sitting on it and looking out the window. I LOVE that it collects the droppings so I donât have a mess all around!! I was nervous to buy something that I knew was coming from out of country but it came faster than it said and the seller communicated throughout the process. It was worth paying shipping on! I am extremely happy with this purchase!!!

Can’t figure it out
I get it that you just tuck the millet spray into the spiral, but there is so much shredded paper that I have to remove some before the millet will fit in there. I don’t understand why it would be stuffed so full of paper if you’re supposed to be able to put something else inside it.

Colorful
Arrived and looked as described.

Awful
Actual product is about 5 inches long, inside the package. Dollar store quality, not worth the price. Returning immediately.

My timid budgie’s new favorite toy
My sweet dumb bird is scared of everything and rarely touches new toys, but he loved this one right off the bat. I think he liked the color, and it helped that it only took a few timid pecks for him to figure out he could pull all the paper out (and chew each piece to oblivion). There isn’t room for it to hold both the paper and a millet stick at the same time, but once he pulls all the paper out I’m definitely going to reuse the spiral and put a millet in there. It’s really fun to see him enjoy something new for once, instead of just glaring at it from across his cage.

It’s great but my 3 Budgies destroyed it in a day. It kept them busy though and that was the point………enrichment.

There’s no way you can put a millet inside is as suggested! This isn’t for medium birds as suggested! This isn’t even the same size as suggested!!

My budgies love this foraging toy! They shred the paper scraps and nibble the bamboo. Easy to refill with fresh crinkled paper strands
Amazon Customer –
This was advertised as a “millet holder”. However, it’s just a thin strip of bamboo that’s been curled and then stuffed with mult-coloured crinkled strips of paper, each about 3″ long. As soon as I removed the cellophane wrapper, the shredded paper started falling out the bottom. As other reviewers mentioned, this is just a foraging toy, as there is no way that you can insert a piece of millet unless you remove all the paper. Even then, the millet would fall out the bottom as it’s open with nothing to secure it. The idea put forth by the seller is good, but it cannot work in it’s present design as the circumference of the bamboo coil is only about an inch. Definitely, not worth $8 + tax. Maybe $1. I would not recommend this. It’s a piece of junk for even a budgie.

My pet bird likes the curly paper to chew on, but I see no way to put millet in it. Maybe Iâm missing something, but I did only buy it as a chew toy for him to pull apart.
