Portable Bird Bag

Pretty bag that can transport your bird in safety and cuteness!
I just recently adopted a parakeet that needed to be re-homed. I have been accumulating the supplies and toys she will need. I plan on taking my parakeet with me when I go on extended vacation, in my camper. I will need a way to transport her. I thought this bag would be perfect.First, the aqua blue is a beautiful color.It comes with a stainless steel pan that is removable for cleaning and friction fits inside the bottom of the bag.It also comes with a plain wood perch/dowel, with bolts in each end. It can be omitted or installed. When installed, it runs the length of the bag. It attaches via thumb screws when you feed the small bolts of the dowel ends through two reinforced holes, sewn into each end of the bag.There is mesh screen is on 5 sides (4 sides and top) of the bag. It is a tight, smooth mesh. Thicker than a typical screen. I don’t believe a little parakeet could do it much damage to it. Any larger bird, like a cockateel might be able to pick through it. No matter, when a bird is in this tote, it would likely never be alone and not inside for extended periods.The bag has one zippered openings. It is the top. The zipper is on 3 sides plus a bit on each side of the 4th side. The flap it creates opens all the way and rests on the side of the bag. the bag stands securely, with the flap open. All edges of the bag are stiff. the bag stand firm, without sagging. The bottom of the bag is solid. It has no standing feet.The bag has short handles, for carrying by hand. It also has a long, adjustable, removable strap, for wearing cross body or on your shoulder. The short handles are not removable.As far as bird bags go, I think this one is a very pretty, cute, solid, safe choice for your bird. I think parakeets and cockateels would be the best for this bag, or any other bird species of similar sizes.

Just what I was hoping for! This isn’t a size for a medium or large bird. Check the listed dimensions to make sure it will fit for you. I have an african grey and it would not be a good size for him, also he would be destructive to the inside if left in it idle. However, if he were ill and not his usual naughty self I would be comfortable putting him on something soft in the bottom to transport him. Hope that makes sense in thinking about how to use it. It is though a great size for small parrots or other smaller birds. I have a senior dove and this is perfect for a vet visit or as an emergency carrier. My area has experienced some natural weather disasters in the last year and I was made more aware that I was not as ready for them as I thought in terms of if I needed to evacuate. This fills an important need for a very much loved pet bird. It folds up nicely to be able to store away until needed. The sewing and construction is good and I will feel safe carrying it by the handles or shoulder strap. There is a silver pan to put in the bottom that fits snuggly and helps with making it firm on the bottom. You could leave as is or add something cushy to the bottom if your bird would ride along at the bottom. There is an included perch that has screw attachments that you connect each end through grommets on both sides. I got the grey color and it is very nice and looks like in the photos. This would be fine for transporting to the vet, or to prepare for an emergency or even to take your bird outside to get some sunshine and feel safer that a predator bird wouldn’t swoop down while you were holding your bird on your hand. It protects and transports as expected. Good product and recommend for the right size bird.
