My birds love this! No sunflower seeds.
Iâve been using the 25 lb bag of Higgins Safflower Gold for a while now, and itâs a hit with all of my birdsâmy Half-Moon Conures, my Green Cheek, my Cockatiel, and even my African Grey. The mix is fresh, clean, and smells great right out of the bag. I really appreciate that it doesnât contain sunflower seeds, but still has a great variety of ingredients they actually eatânot just pick through.

Fancy food and easy moth fix
Long time customer, lifetime bird parent. Quality is very good. Sometimes I laugh bc the bird is eating better than I am. Cashews and pistachios are expensive (!!) but included in this seed mix.For those who have moth/bug issues, thereâs an EASY fix.Itâs a common problem with birdseed so I wouldnât necessarily attribute it to this brand. The larger the bag the more you will probably have this problem if you do not do this easy fix. As soon as amazon delivers seed, separate the food into tupperware. Anything not going in the sealed âimmediate useâ container goes in freezer for minimum 24 hours. I usually have to rotate them in bc thereâs not enough room for all of it. If I can, I keep it in freezer a week. This kills all moths etc that are invisibly waiting to come out. I had a moth issue and this fixed it permanently : )

Whatâs not to like â nothingâ
Received this in a very timely fashion, product cockatiel food was fresh good odor seed variety and pellets with dried foods were evenly added and not a ton of sunflower seed, But compared to other brands and specific food this was A+. Only one drawback and not with the food the packaging it was mailed in was splitting open. Due to weight barely got it in the house before box tape split. But otherwise I recommend and will buy again. My birds canât wait for me to put it in their bowls they actually pace on the bar and eagerly get busy eating when I move away less seeds on the floor since what they like is easy since the seeds are more to their liking and not as much sunflower seed pellets are their size and varied in color shape and thickness they tend to eat more of them. Good value for money like the citrus smell and actually I went back and ordered two more bags a week later.

Kiki and Koko like it.
I have two Green-cheeked Conures that are approximately 20 years old. They are picky eaters. I believe I have bought most Conure food and treats on the market, and they won’t eat them. They’ll go hungry and squawk. They will eat some of these seeds but not all. They refuse to eat millet, and there is a lot in this, but there is in every seed mix I’ve tried. I’d give 5 stars if it weren’t full of millet. I believe Higgins is the best brand.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I have a lovebird, a ring neck, cockatiels, and Quakers. This is my first time buying this food and it is a hit! My whole flock loves it! I like that it has a little bit of everything and no sunflower seeds. I highly recommend.Â
