Introduction to Parrot Toys
Parrots are social birds that require mental and physical stimulation to stay happy and healthy. In the wild, they spend their time foraging, avoiding predators, and interacting with their flock. However, when domesticated, parrots may lack companionship and activity, leading to boredom, loneliness, and behavioral problems. This is why providing parrots with toys is essential for their well-being.
Why Parrots Need Toys
Parrots need toys for several reasons. Firstly, they are social birds that require interaction and companionship. When left alone, parrots may feel lonely and bored, leading to destructive behavior such as screaming, feather plucking, and biting. Secondly, parrots’ beaks are constantly growing, and they need to chew on things to keep their beaks trimmed and healthy. In the wild, parrots chew on wood and other materials to maintain their beaks, but in captivity, they require toys to fulfill this natural behavior.

Finally a well-made parrot toy at a decent price
Most toys in this range are either too small or fall apart fast, but this one is built to last. The size is perfect for larger birds like African Greys or Eclectus parrots. Real wood, strong rope, and no weird chemical smell. My Gray and Eclectus are both big fans â they were instantly engaged and stay busy with it.Great size, real materials, and an engaging design. The hanging loop may need reinforcement eventually, but itâs not a dealbreaker. This one stands out in a market full of overpriced junk.

Great value for the money! Love just the sheer volume of wood to chew for the price!
Great purchase! Lots of soft, destructable wood on a solid chain with a metal stop at the bottom. Perfect entertainment and enrichment for my bolt cutter with wings over here. Good construction in that as he chews the pieces swivel around adding to the fun and brainpower he needs to utilize to make millions of toothpicks!

Fun chew toy – Rose Breasted Cockatoo loves this!
Happy 30th Hatch Day present for my Rose Breasted Cockatoo! My parrot loves this rainbow wood chew toy the best and I have purchased this chew toy from Amazon several times over the years. It came securely wrapped. The bell at the bottom was squished in half but my husband took a pair of pliers and pulled it back into a bell shape. If you are hesitant in the long length for your cage, it can be folded in half as there is a metal loop at bottom where the bell is. Just bring that bottom loop up and connect it to the metal screw thumb hanger (that comes with the chew toy). The wood slats move easily, so you can arrange them to your parrotâs liking. It takes my parrot awhile to get used to a new toy, so right now it is in the observation stage! lol – It provides great chewing entertainment for my parrot. I highly recommend it.

Larger than Expected
When I got my bird toy, I actually thought that they may have sent me a package with 2 or 3 in it since it was so big!It was one big toy and very sturdy and put together well. Since I have two African Greys, I broke the toy into two toys so that both my birds could enjoy it. Even split in two, it was more than enough for both of them!

Cockatoo loves this!
My Umbrella Cockatoo loves these and I think I have purchased 10 or so…She is not huge on toys, so I am happy to have found one that she actually seems to really enjoy (and it is quite large for the price). That having been said, she can destroy this thing in a day if motivated, but I think that is part of the reason she likes it (if wood is too hard, it almost seems less exciting for her). Generally, within 3-4 days it is totally demolished, but the chains and balls last for ages (and can provide entertainment as well).Modifications:It has what appears to be a nylon leaf of some sort at the top but I always cut this off because I am not sure that the fibers would be safe in accidentally ingested. There are bells on the bottom of this toy and they could pose a safety threat because they are not the strongest and could be snapped apart. My bird doesn’t mess with them, but I have heard horror stories about birds and bells. It does have a bit of a design flaw in that if the apple is chewed, the chains all fall to the ground because it is like the hub that connects them all. Nevertheless, the hanging parts can be reattached to the metal karabiner at the top if you loop the chains through it instead. It is more of a nuisance than anything, but It might frighten or injure a smaller bird if the chains/blocks came crashing down without warning—then again, these would only fall of a bird destroyed the “apple” that is the main holder for all of the chains.

My African Grey loved the colourful wood pieces, however shredded them rapidly so the enjoyment for him was short lived.
