Good Food for Laying Hens.
This is a high quality insect based food for my chickens and my reptiles. If the packaging is accurate, there is a lot of calcium in these, which is great for laying hens. The food is well packaged and the chickens seem to love it. While it looks pretty gross, the chickens can’t get enough! This is definitely way better than trying to grow my own crickets and meal worms, and it seems healthier too!

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Fly larvae ? Chickens LOVE it.  I’m always trying to find good treats for my girls. The better the quality the food they eat, the better eggs they produce. Deep, yellow yolks. Delicious. The eggs, that is. The birds get the fly larvae! :0)

You get your money’s worth!
I don’t know what I was expecting when I ordered the black soldier fly larva, but I’m honestly a little impressed. The box is HUGE. Absolutely massive amount in this 5 lb box, and thankfully it’s resealable so you don’t have dried worms falling out everywhere.The bugs themselves look like grubs, very fat and thick and robust. No word yet if it helps the feathered friends with laying eggs, but I have zero doubt that they’re getting their protein and proper nutrition from these guys.I have no clue how long this box will last, but I DO think it’ll be a good long while. Guess it depends how many demanding birds you have in your life, as larger flocks will obviously go through a box quicker.Great deal for the amount they send you! I’ve attached a picture so you can see just how fat and healthy the larva look, and just how huge the box is. These guys don’t mess around when it comes to delivering a lot of valuable product at an incredibly affordable price. Will definitely use these guys in the future due to their great bulk rates for larva!
