Favorite toy/treat!
Out of all the many, many bird toys and treats and accessories I’ve bought my parrotlets, this is by far my favorite. I struggled getting them to eat vegetables at times, but when I put them on this kabob, they think it is a toy to destroy and they devour all the fruits and veggies. So far, I’ve put broccoli, romaine, kale, strawberries, pineapple, cucumber, zucchini, and maybe some others, but I’m excited to try more. They love it!

Functional, but not well designed.
I will use these as a fruit skewer for my ringneck parrot. They are sturdy enough, but there is no easy way to remove it for cleaning and to put fresh fruit on it. To remove it completely you have to take it off from the top toggle. Will keep searching for a better design, but these will do in the meantime.

This is a life enhancer for Orbit
I like to give our Green Cheek Conure, Orbit, treats, but if I put them in his bowl, they quickly get picked up and inadvertently dropped to the bottom of the cage. The Smrtcol Bird Cage Food Holders mean I can give him a berry or a piece of fruit or vegetables and they will remain there at least until he reaches the middle. These are simple, stainless steel skewers in three different lengths with a washer that screws on the bottom to keep whatever you put on the skewer from slipping off. The top is a clip like the ones that are used for hanging bird toys. I thought it would be hard to remove from the top of the cage so I attached it to a vertical bar which I have easy access to. There is a perch nearby for him to reach there too.I tried this with a piece of nectarine today and it’s a big hit. I have a small bird so he doesn’t need much at once to make him happy, but a piece of fruit or something he can tear definitely is appreciated and this makes it easier. It’s a small simple tool, but it works for me. I’ve wanted something like this for a long time. Then today, my daughter took one of them and used it to make a bird toy from pieces we had purchased. It’s perfect and maybe an even better use of these skewers. Take a look at my photos. Orbit went right for it.

Handy and sturdy for keeping bird snacks fresh and fun
These food holders are great for my parakeetsâtheyâre sturdy stainless steel, so no worries about rust or bending. Hanging fruit and veggies on them keeps the cage cleaner and makes snack time more interesting for the birds since they have to forage a bit. Theyâre easy to attach and clean, which is a bonus. Definitely a simple but useful addition for any bird owner.
