Handy work needed
Honestly if you put in the work to make it then itâs a great budgie playground. Theres no instructions so you have to base it off the picture, which to me was fairly easy. Itâs just that 2 wooden pieces thatâs the top and the base bottom was hard to put on and I had to use hammer nails to nail it in because the ones I recieved were of no use. I was just stubborn and did not want to return it and plus it was a pretty decent size for the price compared to others so I just pushed through it. My budgies took a day to get used to it and now they like to land on it to play or rest. The color is natural and the function of it is exactly how itâs supposed to be.

Not worth it
Absolutely a piece of junk. Once you figured out how to put it together ( no instructions) it would just fall over if you put your bird on it. I returned it.Absolutely inferior materials. In my opinion.

Directions are useless. Tray is too small.
Once you get it together it is quite nice. Perfect for tiny parrots, cockatiels, parakeets and such. The quality of the components is good, but this is not as well thought out as it should be. First, the picture shows the wood base inside of the metal tray. That makes no sense. You want the wood base on the bottom for stability and the tray on top of it to catch the poo where it can easily be cleaned. Fortunately, the picture is wrong and the tray DOES go on top of the wood, as the wood base is too big to fit in the tray. The bigger issue is that the tray is not as big around as it should be. It should extend far past all the branches to catch all the poo, but all of the branches go further out than the base, there will be poo on whatever you set this play stand on…a bit of a bummer. There are no directions included in the box, so you have to use the ones pictured here in the listing. But the directions are completely useless. Here is what to do:1) Put together the two main pieces, the tree trunk. They only go together one way. There is a metal thread in the receiving end.2) Take the long screw from the little baggie. Put it through the wood, then through the metal tray and into the bottom of the tree trunk. It has a non threaded, pre-drilled guide whole to get you started.3) Put together two of branches with the flat wood pieces(not the one with a little hole in the middle of one side) on the ends. Any of the branch pieces that do NOT have the little metals eyelets(for the ladder) in them will do. Attach those to the bottom two holes of the trunk.4) Take the smaller branch with the eyelets, attach a flat wood piece(not the one with a little hole in the middle of one side) to the end and attach that to the trunk, third hole from the bottom.5) Take another branch without eyelets and put it into the 5th hole on the trunk. Yes, skip the 4th hole. Then attach the large branch with the eyelets to the end of that. The eyelets should roughly line up with those from the branch in hole 3, attach the ladder.6) Now you may use hole 4, using a regular branch and flat wood piece(not the one with a little hole in the middle of one side).7) Hole 6, attach a regular branch and the flat wood piece that DOES have the pre-drilled starter hole in it. That hole should end up on the bottom. The wreath looking swing thing has a little screw attached, insert that into the predrilled hole and tighten.8) The hanging toy with the corn cob gets attached to the larger branch that holds the ladder up. There is tiny pre-drilled hole there for you attach it, just like the wreath.9) you should have two branches and two ends to put on them, they look like pipes when assembled. Those go in the top two holes in the trunk.10) The remaining flat wood piece with the threads in the bottom goes on top.

Good Value: Decent Quality & Construction, Minor Oversights
âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸ Four stars for quality, stability & wood; one star off for small design flaws and lack of instructions.Parrents, we all know how pricey literally everything is that we buy for our beloved dragons. Thus, it’s unreasonable to think that a stand with some pretty good components and thinking is going to cost $20; try buying this in a specialty bird or pet shop. No, it isn’t perfect…a couple of minor tweaks would have made it a five-star item.âPLUSES+Components. It’s apple wood, which is bird safe and great for their beaks and nails. Also, the perch has female metal inserts in every component, so it’s easy to just twist the bolts in, and they don’t strip- they go to a firm stop, and that’s all you need.+Design. Whoever designed this had parrotlets in mind, from cockatiels to conures, I’d say. We have a green-cheeked conure, Pumpkin, and this is an ideal size for her. She has her own aviary (she’s a princess) so a stand like this isn’t essential, but it’ll be easy to bring if we take her somewhere.+Size. It’s about two feet tall, with good perches and climbing accessories.âMINUSES-Design. Yep, pluses and minuses in the design category. The minus is that the tray is too small, and only a cheap piece of aluminum, something we’d fold and recycle. I’m handy, and modifying the stand to put a bigger tray beneath it would be simple, although we shouldn’t have to. That’s why it’s one star off. Also, the screw eyes that the little ladder go into need crimping; the little metal wire loops don’t stay put, and I don’t want a curious beak to get between the gap. The metal’s soft enough where a quick squeeze with pliers took care of the problem.-Lack of instructions. You’re going to have to look at the picture. Then look at it again. And again. Then unscrew and redo something. Then keep looking. How about a little guide, Mr. Bird Perch manufacturer?âTAKEAWAYThe Bird Playground Parrots Play Stand Wood Perches Stand (whew) is a decent find, and I contend that the price is right; a product’s cost involves labor as well as materials, and this isn’t a cheap stand- I’ve had a number of those, enough to say phooey and build my own. Re. the concern that it may have chemicals, be unsafe for birds, etc, don’t worry. It’s unfinished, and all bird toys should be washed and rinsed when they’re new. I always put mine in the sun for a little while as well. I immediately removed the little green ribbon around the wreath- there’s glitter on it, dumb and dangerous for a bird to chew. Please cut it off.Overall, this is a decent buy that needs a little shove to be excellent.Cheers, Z

Not so hot
If it wasn’t for ‘Mel’ in their review I wouldn’t have known how to put it together…there’s no instructions…you just have to look at the picture. The top piece is hard to deal with getting the screw in…maybe the screw doesn’t go there?? Who knows… I would not recommend this product

Bebop Likes It ! –
.Very nice quality for being such a good value. Bebop the parrot likes it !We have two stands that are similar and they really helped with relieving himself appropriately. Cleverly placed on a high spot he already likes to land on, such as the top of the refrigerator, as he likes to watch us cooking. The whole stand sits in a steel catch tray. Easy to clean. THAT’s where the value comes in for me.The natural uncoated wood is very appealing to us and especially Bebop. The hanging toys are just as good. All-in-all a very successful order !
