- Harvested and hand packaged in the USA
- Available in 5-pound bags for your convenience
- Should be stored in a cool, dry environment to maintain freshness
Pros
This stemless spray millet is a wonderful treat and an excellent weaning food for seed-eating birds. It provides mental stimulation and exciting fun for your pet as they forage through the spray. The fact that it’s pesticide-free and preservative-free ensures a healthy snack for your birds.
Cons
None noted, but as with any bird treat, it’s essential to ensure your birds have a balanced diet and not to overfeed them with treats.

Very Good Quality
This is good quality, no stems and the millet heads have all their seeds there. Our birds love them. Normally when they do like this, it means it is fresh (I can’t tell). Will purchase again.

Best Price for High-Quality Millet Sprays
After receiving two separate orders for Penn Seed Spray Millet Heads, I strongly recommend this brand for delivering high-quality millet sprays at the best price. My finches devour Penn Seed’s millet. There are many millet vendors offering a wide range of prices. I tried various brands, but most were disappointingâfrom old, stale millet to small compact sprays. HOWEVER, Penn Seed’s millet sprays are big, plump, and fresh. Penn’s price is better than that of better-known brands that deliver lesser-quality millet.

My birds say YES
I don’t eat millet, so I rely upon my cockatiels to inform me. They say yes! This source of spray millet is favored over several other sources. I donât care about vitamins or other crap. Itâs a treat. They love it. One other factor: Penn Feed (Castle Enterprise) separates cost of goods from shipping charge. The shipping portion is not taxable. Many companies combine shipping cost with product price (called shipping and handling) which simplifies their process but costs you additional state sales taxes. Good product.

Overall Great Millet Spray
I’ve been buying bulk millet spray for about a year. Pre packaged is 2-3x more expensive than bulk, and bulk lasts much longer. Also, bulk millet isn’t cut in half to make two sprays like pre packaged sometimes are.Lately, however, the bulk millet spray quality I’ve received from Higgins and others have been unacceptable for hanging sprays in the cage (could be the season or the species or both) with loose grapes filling mostly the bottom of the box from less than full sprays which are sparse with dangling grapes, usually a light tan color. It’s a frustrating waste of money. However, this brand of millet spray is the best I’ve ‘ever’ received from even the best shipments from other dealers in the past. All the sprays are tightly compacted with golden colored grapes which cling defiantly to the stalk. These sprays are dense and compact with full and varying thickness and lengths. They are healthy and shiny, without that sometimes dusty, mildewed haze, that looks questionable and good for nothing but the trash. The only negative thing about this brand of millet spray is that they cut off the long stem which I find helpful to hang the spray from the cage using a clothespin. I have to remove some of the grapes where the stem was cut off to make room for the clothespin to attach to, thereby wasting some of the product. This is the reason why I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5 stars…because this is a 5 star product where everything else is concerned. To those frustrated bulk buyers, I would strongly recommend trying this product (which my birds love). The attached photo is a true color image.BTW, The product description says 5 lbs., but the UPS label shows 6 lbs.

Very Nice Spray Millet
I have bought spray millet from Amazon before from different sellers and it was ok but always seemed a little dry and falling apart. I have a pet quail that followed my grandson home when it was only about a day or two old. That was 3 years ago. He loves spray millet and this spray millet from Penn Seed is really fresh and when they say no stems and only edible tops they mean it. I am so pleased with this millet and Reggie my quail loves it. I will buy this again and again for him. Excellent product and nice price.

Best millet in ages
My only hesitation in writing this review – if word gets out that this is the best millet available, it won’t be in stock next time I need to order. Seriously, this millet is the freshest millet I’ve ever purchased online. It does not have long stems that you are paying for and my birds absolutely love it. More importantly, the millet was actually on the stem and not in the bottom of the bag or box like I usually get from other sources. The seller also wrote a nice note, so support this great business – as long as he has more the next time I need to order 🙂
