They should last for a long time, and they do deter wild birds
These birds scare devices are nice and so far I’ve seen 2 of the resident cardinals that always raid my chickens’ feeder be deterred from entering the coop where I have hung one of these. They are super reflective, stainless steel, and aren’t going to fall apart. There are 4 to this package, and each chain of reflectors has 3 reflectors, a decent sized hook for hanging from tree branches, etc, plus lock clips so if you wanted to make one long string of deflectors, you can.The directions I got do not go with this product but no worries, it was easy to figure out.The spirals are not spiral when they arrive to you. The are flat, and each oblong steel disc has protective plastic sheeting stuck to both sides. The best way I found to get it off, is simply hold firmly each disc from it’s top and bottom, and while gently pulling in opposite directions, also twist in opposite directions. The edges of the plastic will release itself, you can pull it off the rest of the way, and then continue your twist until the disc is the right spiral shape. Remember to continue gently pulling the 2 ends in opposite directions to get your spiral just right.I’ve added several photos, one of the item before removing the plastic, and one after twisting, along with the spiral. Also a pic of the directions that came with, and then the item hanging in various locations where my pet chickens like to hang out.I’ve been using old CD’s hung with fishing line to deter predators and wild birds, but this product will work much better, and not fly off the tree branches with every gust of wind. They have a decent weight, but still spin nicely in the wind.

They really do work! And look pretty too!
Our back patio was struggling with bird issues. In particular, our grill, which thankfully is always covered. I did a little research on how to deter bird activity near your home, patio, etc., and learned that sparkly, reflective items can sometimes help. I decided to give these a try.Itâs been just over 1 week and weâve had ONE âaccident.â And it was the side of the gazebo that did not have one of these hanging from the rafter. So weâve moved one of these over to that wall and have had no issue.Itâs important to note that the grill is not under the gazebo, but about 3 feet to the side of it. But there placement of the sparklers seems to be working for the grill since there has been no issue. And it is a brand new grill cover so it would be very easy to see any new deposits.Since hanging them, in addition to almost no more bird droppings, they have held up to crazy wind gusts and pouring rain. They are a little bit adjustable, you shorten the string if you wan only 1 or 2 pieces dangling but weâve got all 4 of them at their full length. Also, they are just really pretty!Weâll probably get one more of something, maybe a wind chime, for a wall side that has a bit less exposure to the detergents but overall, we are really pleased with how well these are working at deterring bird activity near our patio and gazebo.

Decent product for bird deterrence; I’m putting them in rabbit-prone areas too
Very satisfied with these. Fairly strong material and actually look kind of pretty. I have a large ficus in our living room window all winter and in spring birds try to land in it & hit the windows. It looks like a good place for a bird to perch because the trees outside don’t have leaves yet but mine does. (We never have issues in winter, seems to be the first returning migrators in spring.) I put a fan on the tree so the metal spins & catches the light, plus we put some window stickers up. Since starting this we’ve had no incidents. I’m also placing them on spikes near plants the rabbits keep eating. Don’t really know if they help with that, but again since they move around in a breeze we figured it was worth a try. They look nice in the garden especially before many flowers are blooming and gives some visual interest. They come flat and you twist them into shape which is very easy to do. Decent item for a good price, definitely recommend these.

Easy to use and install.
I have seen similar items in the store that look like tin foil and the sun would damage it within one season of hanging in the trees so I am hopeful that these will last for the season with more to come. These were fun to open and twist to put in the trees. They are a bit heavy, a bit over 2 ounces, so you cannot hang them in a young tree. I tried to put one on a âyoungerâ branch only to have this weigh it down to the point of breaking the branch. It has been a few weeks since I put them on the tree and noticed that the wind had blown them about and while they were still in the tree the lower portion of the unit was stuck on another branch. I had to be very careful on not damaging the branch when pulling it off and so I looked to hang it in a more open area of the tree.As of yet, my trees have no fruit so it will be some time before I know if they do the job.

Works until the critters get used to them
Works at first, until the animals figure out they are in no danger, and then they just ignore them

Easy to Hang, Look Great, and Seem to Work!
These were easy to install and look really niceâespecially when there’s a light breeze. They add a decorative touch to the garden while serving a practical purpose.Since hanging them above my garden, I havenât noticed any birds getting into the area, so they seem to be doing their job of repelling birds! The included hooks made hanging them simple, allows them to spin, and the material feels durable enough to hold up to sun and wind for a long time.If you’re looking for a functional bird deterrent that also adds a bit of visual appeal, these are a great option.âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸ â Stylish, simple, and effective!
