Durable, safe comfort for cold days for my parakeet.
My pet parakeet absolutely loved and used this little heater to keep himself warm during the cold winter season. At night he perched as close as he could to it when the temps dropped below 30 degrees at night outside. His cage is near a window but still good to see he uses it. Even used it in these spring days.I have it installed to a Omlet EEO 60 birdcage and this worked well to attach to the cage easily.Highly recommend this item though seems like a lot of money but a sick bird would cost more. The design is solid and durable with wire wrapped in metal to avoid bird from chewing for shock. Smart design and zero worry to run all day and night. Doesnât get crazy hot to the touch but is like a nice gentle heat like you get from charging a phone battery or something like that.

My bird loves it
I needed something to help keep my bird warm as the temp began to drop. My bird loves this heater and snuggles up to it every night. Keep in mind it is a very gentle heat. Think of your phone when it starts to get too warm. The heat does not radiate from the heater. It is a snuggle up kind of heater, which is perfect, I donât have to worry about my birds space getting hot. Fits well in her cage and installation was simple. Been using it for a few weeks, Iâve had no issues. Highly recommend this heater and so does my little Taylor.

African Grey loves it
So far this is a hit. I’ve seen him snoozing up on his perch next to the heater on several occasions … we cover his cage at night, so to see this I have to disturb him. I think it gives him options for comfort. It’s nice and warm to the touch, but not “hot” and the bird has plenty of room to step away from it or go to another perch if needed. As for power use, it is definitely thermostatically-controlled. Using an AC watt meter, I see it sits at around 0.4 watts at idle (warmed up) and about 20 watts when “on”. It warms up quickly, by the way. I’ll leave the watt meter on all night tonight (we only use the heater at night, so, for an African Grey, 12 hours) and see if I can give an estimate for power consumption in kWh. Result: Last night for my “test” the meter recorded 0.11kWh over 14 hours. Let’s squinch those numbers down to an estimate of 0.10kWh for 12 hours, and that results in approx. 3kWh per month, 36 per year.As for the fact that the metal coil protection is not clamped into the nut (and inviting beak attack) I tried hot-gluing it .. well, that didn’t last … he peeled that off and flung it. But I determined that with a loop under tension, the metal part is pressed against the nut, and so far, so good. Do not let the wire just hang. I agree … it should have better true strain relief. The wire in question is on the outside of the cage … we let him out of the cage most of the day, so he has access to that one area. The washers could be a bit smaller, for cages like mine (a 1″ spacing) but it holds well enough. What I do not like is that the wire from the heater to the barrel connector is too short. I simply cut it off and connected the wires together, as I ran the whole thing through a capped PVC pipe to keep the feathery guy with the beak from getting at it. The protected wire could have been a couple feet longer, in my opinion.

Pretty good for parakeets
This heater is nice. Itâs thermostatic so it stays one temperature so you donât have to worry about it getting too hot. Itâs nice that itâs waterproof and easy to use. It makes no noise and my birds love sitting next to it. Not bad for the price. Perfect for chilly nights.

Not great at its core function – heating
I bought this for my parakeet. Shes in a small cage. I had a heating lamp on top during the winter and thought this heater would be better. I want to stress that you barely feel any heat radiating from it. It is warm to the touch, but provides very little heat otherwise. If you’ve got a cold bird, I’d recommend something that uses more electricity.

Comforting, and more importantly, SAFE.
Provides a comforting level of heat. Doesn’t heat up the cage or its surroundings, but a nice, gentle heat like a bird would have from sitting near a cage mate. I wasn’t sure Sparkabird would like it, but everytime I come in from being gone for a few hours, he is sitting next to it when I get home. I love it, he loves it. I was also nervous about the cord, but it is wrapped in a wire shielding and cannot be reached from inside the cage. Spark does climb all over the outside of the cage when he is out, but he explored it once with his beak and has never bothered it again. I highly recommend.

Winter must have
The temperature does not get too hot to hurt your bird. Super easy to install. I would leave this on all night with no problem. The heater is built to last. Worth the money

Reliable
Very reliable. This unit puts out at a constant 109 degrees. I have run it 24/7 since I bought if for my crippled chicken that I rescued. She has to stay in a 4 x 8 run in the house when its too cold or rainy. It wipes clean and seems like it could attach to any cage. I have 2 big dog crates put together and it attaches to the bars very nicely. My chicken girl lays against it very often. This was way better than any other heater I tried.

This bird heater is a very good product, the only criticism I have is it might be a bit too warm for a small cage.

Good product! Have used this since I got it. Budgie only in the last week has started to use it overnight. I keep it plugged in basically 24/7 unless i move his cage for his flight / exercise purposes. I like it. Is a life saver for apartments which use use AC frequently and cannot allow birdie to get cold.
