My parrots love it!
I own two African Greys and one Moluccan Cockatoo, and they are picky eaters. They normally get a high quality pelleted feed and a handful of sunflower seeds or cashews daily along with their fresh fruit and veggies, but there are days when they leave just about everything scattered on the floor of their cages. Someone recommended this seed mix to me and I had to really hunt for a place to purchase it. I was glad to finally find it on Amazon, and hopeful that it would appeal to my crew. To my amazement, they LOVED it. They each get a scoopful daily and consume every last bit. All three birds are thriving and can’t wait for their morning serving. The mix is quite varied and is a complete feed, though I still provide the fruits and veggies. It contains Omega-3 fatty acids, probiotics, DHA and all the vitamins and minerals that they need. I don’t work for the company, so I’m not selling this for their benefit, just a very satisfied customer happy with a high quality product.

FRESH and my CC2 LOVES having this as a topper
THIS IS AMAZING. Just rehomed a CC2 4 weeks ago, and are trying to find a good balance of pellets and treats for her. SHE LOVES THIS STUFF. One of her favorite fruits is Orange/Tangerine. The food just REAKS of it, WHICH IS GREAT. EVERY seed shell is empty, and she is more than satisfied. A GREAT addition to her diet.

Parrots In The Wild Spend 90% Of Their Time Foraging For Food
My wife is such a good shopper that when she knew that I wanted an African Grey parrot, she went out and bought me one. Unfortunately someone talked her into a Timneh African Grey instead of the Congo African Grey that I wanted. But I graciously accepted the gift and named HIM Socrates. We expected a lot of mimicry out of HIM and therefore a wise name seemed fitting.I believe that it was three years of age that Socrates laid HER first egg. Not only did my wife get me the wrong species, she bought a female instead of what the pet shop owner said was a male. We’ve had a few eggs since then and always watch her to make sure that she doesn’t get egg bound. Our primary diet for her has been various configurations of the LaFeber’s Nutri-Berries. She has done extremely well on these as far as nutrition but we noticed that she was ignoring her toys and seeming to stay out of sight a lot. My research showed me that parrots spend the vast majority of their time in the wild foraging for food. Since a captive bird has their meals pretty much served to them, it seemed logical that I add more items to her food bowl to make her search out the food she wanted to eat.The Vita Seed California Blend for Parrots seemed to be one of the more nutritionally sound seed diets available. Now when we feed her, we use the LaFeber Nutri-Berries combined with a scoop of the Vita Seed food along with a few peanuts and corn. She also gets a daily mixture of cooked peas, green beans, red apple, grapes, and a bit of cooked pasta. These birds need to be challenged and kept busy, so look at your cage environment and see if there is something that you can add to it to engage their energy and attention. Your bird will be happier for it.

Switched to Higgins California blend after buying Sweet Harvest for over 15 years!
I ordered the Higgins California Blend and the Zupreem pellets.I am very pleased as my order came in 3 days.It has a expiration of June 2023. Yes, I will order again! I used to purchase Sweet Harvest without the Sunflower seeds but they included peanuts.Peanuts and Sunflowers seeds are not healthy for parrots.I will be buying Higgins California Blend from now on.I was a previous Sweet Harvest Customer for over 15 years and made the switch. My baby love the California blend mixed with the Zupreem pellets.

Great as a foraging treat!
The birds love this and I was excited to find a blend without sunflower seeds. This makes a great foraging addition to their pellet diet.

Good food but opened bag.
My timneh african grey loves this food. But the bag was open and seeds were every where in the box.

Price increase is ridiculous. The seeds are not organic and definitely not worth over $15 increase. Pure greed. I would find a better quality brand for this price!

The birds love it. Nothing else needs to be said. A quality product. This is the third bag I’ve purchased. Please give it a try.

This is a good quality sunflower free parrot food mix. Unlike some other big brands it’s also free from food colourings/ E numbers/ parabens. Sunflower is very high in fat (contributes to liver damage in pet birds) and artificial food colors are no good for anyone (carcinogens). The mix includes naturally colored nutritious pellets and almonds in shell which provide mental stimulation. There’s very little filler in this mix so good value for money. I would definitely purchase again especially as my bird loves it.I noticed in other reviews comments about not enough fruits and vegetables in the mix. This mix forms approximately a third of my birds diet. The remainder of the daily diet is FRESH vegetables/ fruits (sometimes whole), sprouts and legumes.
