The best birdseed I ever bought in years
I have seen a lot of reviews that Amazon always spills the bird seed when shipped, so much that I was reluctant to buy it. The absolutely best brand of seed for pet birds is Kaytee Fiesta (Parakeet Food). The bags are very thick, and have no air in them. (I cannot buy it this well at the best bird store in Charleston). Last order, I bought 6 packs of 4.5 pounds, and this is the second time I bought it from Amazon. There were NO Spilled Seeds. I would submit that others bought an off cheap brand, in which of course the bag broke. This seed is so good that even the cockatiel prefers it to his food. Personally, I think Amazon is amazing. The only problems I have with shipping is not Amazon but the Postal system.

Ordered yesterday 3/15/25 and got it on a Sunday 3/16/25. My âgirlsâ appreciate it. Saves me a 40 min trip to Country Max lol. Worth the buy as well

A delicious, nutritional and fully balanced diet that truly is gourmet (said my parakeets).
All I can say is that our parakeets LOVE this stuff. They simply can’t get enough of it and have told me it is a perfect diet for them and to stop trying other brands. So I suppose it really is gourmet to them. They enjoy the vast majority of the delicious items in there, only leaving a few behind (or throwing a few out of the food bin). The yellow disk-like ones they aren’t too fond of, maybe because they are too large. I’m not quite sure what they are, but perhaps those are the “dried whole egg” listed on the ingredients. They don’t seem to be too excited about fresh (boiled) egg anyway. But everything else clearly tastes good to them. When viewing their excrement it is clearly healthy, so I do believe this is providing them with everything they need.Initially my wife was worried that the birds were only eating seeds and wanted to get them something else too, since having “real” food is essential to their diet. But if you look at all the delicious things in here from dried papaya, dehydrated apples, dried pineapple, sunflower seeds all the way to dried bacillus licheniformis fermentation product, they clearly are getting more than seeds in their diet, so who wouldn’t love this mix! I might just buy a bag as snack mix when I’m at the office!UPDATE after 2 years. We’ve been buying this stuff now for quite some time, and the birds still love it. Unlike humans, they aren’t getting sick of it : )

Parakeet loves this food!
Iâve tried a lot of other foods, but this was my parakeets favorite since it has all the mix ins. Parakeet was able to break the shell easily to eat the seeds and food came very fresh.

Good variety
I bought this as a supplement to add diversity to the finch mix I already feed in my aviary. It has lots of variety including buckwheat and some kind of crushed pellet similar to chicken feed. The only thing I donât like is the little colored cat food looking bits and the artificially colored random seed. In my experience no hook bill or softbill Iâve owned has ever eaten those cat food chunks. I understand theyâre trying to make it colorful so itâs interesting to the birds but itâs always wasted until it ends up on the lawn for the wild birds. Another good option for adding some seed diversity is hitting up the bulk grain bins at a health food store. Even my finches enjoy the challenge of safflower seeds and the other odd ones not usually in a finch mix.

Blueberry Approved
My Parakeet Blueberry tore this mess up when I put it in his food holder. About 10 minutes later started doing his happy singing. Initially bought him this to fatten him up. So far, so good. Would recommend. Well, he would recommend.
