Excellent Food!!
My hens & roosters are obsessed with this Scratch & Peck food. I don’t always order it before I run out, because I typically keep another excellent brand of food in their feeders that they can eat free choice throughout the day. But on the mornings a do have a bucket of this fermented, they wake up to a heaping pile of deliciousness. They eat like a man that’s been lost at sea for weeks. Fermenting really helps stretch the food so you get more bang for your buck. And all the delicious herbs and such are getting consumed, not falling to the bottom of the feeder, when it’s fermented. Egg quality is superb and overall health of my birds is improved with adding this to their diet. My hens are 2 years old. I took one to the vet recently to test for parasites or worms, just to get an idea of the overall health of my flock. She had no parasites or worms. I do believe fermenting this food has contributed to that. And also keeping the coops/runs clean on the daily.

Goes to waste
I guess it’s just my chickens but they won’t eat about half of whats in this. It seems to me it is a wheat seed that they just leave. I’ve even tried to give it to the wild birds and they won’t eat it. It disappears eventually and I think the mice are eating the rest of what the bird won’t.

Quality has gone down
Love the organic nature and whole seed aspects but lately the bags have been at least 1/4 full of dust. Didn’t used to be this way. This is the 5th bag like this. If it continues I’ll be looking for a different brand. My chickens like it though and they leave very little waste (other than dust).

Becomes compressed dust
Dust is left behind after the hens eat all the corn and larger parts of wheat. The feeder is left with dust or what looks to be compacted sawdust in each section. I tap it down to get more larger pieces to come down but after a while itâs just a waste of compressed uneaten debris. So expensive for a bag that is most ground up grain. Will not be purchasing again.
