safflower seeds important staple diet
A few of my birds are very picky and don’t typically like dried fruit or nuts, but prefer seeds. The safflower content is great because Billy our oldest bird prefers to eat mostly these seeds. However, we have an amazon and two female eclectuses that like a fruit and nut variety as well as seed variety, so I guess getting a lot of different foods is best for my 6 birds. I’ve tried Lafeber pellets and Zupreem pellets and it’s a loss, so it’s necessary to get a wide variety of seed, nut, spice, and fruit mix where they can pick and choose what to eat. It encourages a foraging behavior which is good for their mental health.
